The house

Stone walls, wrought-iron railings and a garden that opens onto the valley. In La Rina, among the meadows and hills of Siero.

The house has two separate floors. Upstairs is El Mirador de Peñamayor, with two bedrooms and a hot tub in the garden. Downstairs is La Cabañina, lined with the original stone, for two and with its own private garden. Each has its own entrance, kitchen and bathroom, and both look out over the mountains.

The décor blends the rustic feel of the Asturian mountains with a modern touch.

Our story

ALMA for Álvaro and Mario, ASTUR for Asturias

ALMASTUR grew out of a dream we had shared since the day we met: a place where people could come to rest and feel our home was theirs. The name says it all: ALMA, from the first letters of Álvaro and Mario, and ASTUR, for Asturias.

We found the house during the pandemic. It belonged to an elderly couple who hardly came up any more, and it had been badly neglected. They sold it to us on one condition: that their mare, who to them was the symbol of the place, would stay with us. And she did, until the end of her days.

Restoring it took us almost two years. We started by letting it out the odd weekend, not knowing whether it would work, and it was our guests, who fell in love with the area, who made it grow.

Today we love sharing with everyone who stays here what we feel for this land: its culture, its traditions, its food and its people. And we hope that, when the holiday is over, you will want to come back.
